Antonio Hernandez

Chief Executive Officer

Antonio Hernandez is a founding partner of Intech and currently serves as General Director. He has over 25 years of experience throughout the world in the software development and telecommunications industries.

Antonio began his career in the Research division of the Electrical Research Institute. During his 5 years at the Electrical Research Institute, Antonio worked on research projects to investigate the possibility of providing telecommunications services through the electrical power grid and the electrical wiring inside of buildings.

After his tenure at the Electrical Research Institute, Antonio joined Ericsson where he began in the mobile telephony division working in the design and development department. While in this position Antonio led the redesign of an entire mobile subsystem, including a restructuring of all products and interfaces. This led to a significant improvement in the quality of the products and a dramatic reduction in delivery time for new services.

Antonio most significant contribution during his time at Ericsson was spearheading the creation of The Center for Adaptation of Intelligent Networks, Latin America. Antonio saw that the market was looking for customized features and functions on Ericsson standard platforms. As more of these types of requests came in it became apparent that the existing Product Development process at Ericsson could not support this level of customization in the time frame the clients needed. Antonio’s solution was to create, The Center for Adaptation of Intelligent Networks, an organization that could support custom, market specific features in a very short timeframe.

Antonio directed the efforts of Ericsson business units in Sweden, The Netherlands and Mexico in creating The Center. Provided with a small amount of seed funding, The Center was required to be a self sustaining organization. Under Antonio’s guidance and leadership The Center flourished and led to the creation of two additional Centers within Ericsson. The Center eventually grew to employ more than 80 engineers, producing more that $4 million of annual revenue.

In 2002 Antonio decided to leave Ericsson to create Intelligent Network Technologies Company, Intech. Antonio envisioned Intech as a research and development company for solutions in telecommunications. The vision was to become the leading intelligent networks solutions providers in the world.

To obtain this vision Antonio knew that processes and quality models were of vital importance. He led Intech through an ISO 9001 and CMMI Level 3 certification. In addition, he implemented agile development methodologies to better utilize resources and shorten delivery times. Antonio insistence that Intech follow processes has allowed the company to deliver high quality products in a predictable fashions. He know that predictability is crucial to developing trust and a long term relationship with Intech’s clients.

In recent years, Intech has also developed a Professional Services organization that provides expertise and support in a number of highly complex technical situations. Most recently, Intech has launched a unique IT outsourcing service called Intech Managed Software Development Service (IMSDS). IMSDS offers clients a fully managed and cost defined service for IT development.

In its 10 years of being in business, through Antonio’s vision and leadership, Intech has become a sound and strategic supplier to its global clients and partners. Intech has been able to accomplish this by looking at solutions from a business perspective and not solely from a technology perspective. The focus on processes has allowed Intech to consistently and predictably deliver high quality results while maintaining a great deal of flexibility.

Throughout his career, Antonio’s has exhibited entrepreneurial spirit, business acumen and the leadership skills that have allowed him to successfully create new areas of business as well as to transform existing organizations. Antonio has vast experience in establishing technical software development organizations, governed by processes that instill the values of constant quality control and continual improvement strategies.

Antonio has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de la Laguna and a Masters in Electronics with a specialization in Computing from CENIDET.
